How Do I Get Proof Of Insurance From COBRA?
I need proof of my COBRA coverage. Who can I talk to about getting proof?
COBRA is not an insurance company. COBRA is simply the continuation of the same coverage you had through a previous employer. To get proof of insurance, you would need to contact the COBRA Administrator at your previous employer. Typically, the COBRA Administrator is in the HR department.

COBRA Eligibility
Your COBRA Health Insurance ID Card
As this is the same insurance you still had, your insurance identification card stays the same. You will still have the same member number. When you visit hospitals and clinics, you will show them the same ID card as proof of continuing coverage.
If you need a replacement card, contact the insurance carrier to have a new one mailed to you.
Did You Change Your Address?
If you need to update your address on your COBRA health plan, contact the plan administrator.
Common Third-Party Administrators
Your COBRA plan may be managed by a third-party administrator. Many employers work with the following:
- WageWorks / Conexis
- BenefitConnect EHR
- Discovery Benefits / WEX
- TASC
- Employee Benefits Corp (EBC)
- Lifetime Benefit Solutions
- Navia Benefit Solutions
If you are unsure who your plan administrator is, reach out to the human resources department of the company that provided the health insurance you had.
