Vision Coverage Under COBRA

Can I keep my vision insurance plan on COBRA?

Yes, if your vision insurance was part of your employer’s group health plan, COBRA allows you to continue that coverage. The COBRA law requires employers to offer continuation for all group health benefits in place at the time of the qualifying event, which may include vision insurance. If your vision coverage was offered only as a voluntary or stand-alone plan outside the group health plan, it may not be included. Contact your COBRA administrator to confirm whether your vision benefits are eligible for continuation.

Vision Insurance Continuation With COBRA

If your vision insurance is eligible for continuation will still have access to eye exams, glasses, or other covered vision services by paying the full premium. To find out if your vision plan qualifies for continuation, reach out to your COBRA administrator for details.
