COBRA Premium Was Paid, Why Hasn’t Coverage Started?
I mailed my Publix COBRA Information, along with my first premium payment, but have never received documents. At my clinic, they don’t have me as having insurance. I need to know if I missed the deadline or if I filled out the paperwork incorrectly I would greatly appreciate any assistance thank you.
Your COBRA payment was sent to either the past employer or the third party that the employer uses for the administration of COBRA. You may be facing a lag time between your payment and the administrator paying the insurance carrier who provides your continuation of group health coverage.
To contact your plan administrator, follow the instructions on the original paperwork you were sent about starting COBRA. If your payment was sent in a timely manner then you should have coverage.
