I’m about to retire and eligible for COBRA on my work’s Highmark insurance plan. What do I need to get started?

Your employer or their third-party administrator will notify you of your right to continue your health plan with Highmark. The COBRA notification paperwork they will send provides you with your plan costs, application instructions and content information of the administrator.

As you head into retirement, you are eligible for up to 18 months of COBRA coverage.

What Are The Options For Paying For COBRA?

Your health insurance was paid previously by payroll deduction. While on COBRA, you will pay the full premium for your Highmark health insurance plan and make those payments directly to the employer or their appointed third-party administrator.
