What Is The Billing Address For COBRA Insurance?
What is the billing address for COBRA? Our medical claims from United Health are being denied, possibly because they do not have the correct billing address.
COBRA is not an insurance company. COBRA is a federal law that requires employers with 20 or more fulltime employees to make available their group health insurance to former employees and families to continue on.
Because COBRA is simply the continuation of the same coverage you had through a previous employer, you would need to contact the COBRA Administrator at your previous employer to find out what their billing address is to make your premium payments. Someone in the Human Resources department can help you.
Online Payments For COBRA Continuation
In your COBRA packet of information, you will be given contact information on how to enroll and make your payments. Oftentimes, a company will use a third party administrator, also known as a TPA, to manage enrollments and premium payments.
The TPA may provide you an online account that will process payments to keep your insurance active.
Phone For COBRA Insurance
Since the right to continue on your previous employer insurance is a law, there is not a COBRA phone number you may call. To discuss customer service issues related to your COBRA plan, you need to work with your previous employer’s HR Department.
COBRA Third-Party Administrators
Your COBRA plan may be managed by a third-party administrator. Many employers work with the following:
- ADP COBRA
- BASIC COBRA
- BAS' COBRA Control Services
- BenefitConnect EHR
- BenefitSolver COBRA
- Burnham & Flower
- BRI COBRA (Benefits Resource)
- bswift COBRA
- COBRAPoint Benaissance
- Employee Benefits Corp (EBC)
- Lifetime Benefit Solutions
- Navia Benefit Solutions
- Optum Financial
- Paycom COBRA
- Total Administrative Service Corporation (TASC)
- WageWorks / Conexis
- WEX (formerly Discovery Benefits)
If you are unsure who your plan administrator is, reach out to the human resources department of the company that provided the health insurance you had.
